SiGMA iGaming's Global Anchor Week

SiGMA grew from a 1,500-person Malta summit into iGaming's 30,000-delegate flagship, now in Rome, with regional editions in Dubai, São Paulo, Manila and Malta. This guide covers its attendance, exhibitor costs and how to activate around the week, based on 145+ CH3 productions in the circuit's host cities.

SiGMA started in 2014 as the Summit of iGaming Malta, a 1,500-person gathering founded by Eman Pulis. Today it runs about eight summits a year across five continents, and its flagship moved to Rome in November 2025: 30,000 delegates and around 1,000 exhibitors at Fiera Roma. The format pairs a large B2B expo of operators, affiliates and suppliers with heavy official hospitality (nightly dinners, awards, poker, karting, padel).

SiGMA History: Malta To Rome (2014–2026)

flagship relocated in 2025 · regional world tour continues year-round

Two eras. Malta grew the summit from 1,500 delegates in 2014 to 27,000 in 2024. Then the flagship moved: Rome drew a record 30,000 in November 2025, while Malta continues as a regional edition of about 12,000. The world tour scaled in parallel, with Dubai at 14,500 and São Paulo at 17,500 by 2025.

How this data was compiled: flagship attendance per year comes from SiGMA Group's own announcements and post-event reporting on sigma.world; the split view for 2025–2026 shows the relocated Rome flagship alongside the continuing Malta regional edition, with Malta figures from CH3's conference tracker. 2026 bars are organiser expectations, not results. All numbers are self-reported by the organiser. Last verified: July 2026.

The takeaway: the flagship grew twentyfold in eleven years, and when Malta ran out of room, SiGMA moved it rather than cap it. With Rome, Malta, Dubai, São Paulo and Manila running in parallel, one relationship now gives a brand five anchor weeks a year.

Who Attends SiGMA?

operators · affiliates · suppliers · regulators · a pure B2B badge

SiGMA is a pure trade summit. The floor is operators, affiliates, payment providers, platform suppliers and game studios, plus a strong regulatory layer: the Rome debut was opened by the President of the European Parliament. Passes start around €500, so there is no hobbyist crowd. The scarce resource is not professional attendees, it is the attention of the specific operators a supplier needs.

The Audience, In Four Layers

  • Operators · casino, sportsbook, lottery and bingo brands, the buy side every exhibitor is hunting; concentrated, senior and heavily courted.
  • Affiliates & media buyers · a defining SiGMA constituency since the Malta years, from solo affiliates to listed affiliate networks.
  • Suppliers & B2B vendors · platforms, payments, compliance, game providers and data firms; the bulk of the exhibitor count and a large share of delegates.
  • Regulators, lawyers & institutions · gaming authorities, policymakers and advisors, drawn by SiGMA's regulatory stages and government partnerships.

SiGMA Exhibitors & The Cost Of Presence

1,000+ exhibitors in Rome · passes from ~€500 · stands quoted on application

Rome '25: ~1,000 exhibitors · 75,000 sqm sold out · 550+ speakers Rome '26: 1,200+ exhibitors expected

SiGMA's commercial model is the expo floor. Passes tier from about €500; exhibitor and branding packages are quoted via sigma.world, with entry packages reported around €10,000–11,000 and stands scaling steeply from there. For what expo presence buys versus what hosted formats buy, our study of what conference sponsorships actually cost, and where the ROI is quantified the attention gap across 340+ packages.

What This Means For Brands

  • The floor is crowded. At ~1,000 exhibitors, a stand competes for walk-by seconds; the attention research behind our ROI study measured expo presence in seconds per attendee against hours for hosted formats.
  • Official is not curated. The iGathering dinners, awards and festival nights run on broad invite pools and the organiser's guest list, not yours. A private event controls the one variable that matters, who is in the room: a hand-picked operator list turns an evening into pipeline rather than exposure.
  • Compare ROI, not invoices. In our sponsorship ROI research, hosted side events measured about $100 per guest and $48 per attention-hour against roughly $272 per attention-hour for headline sponsorship tiers, and co-hosted formats brought per-guest cost down to around $40. A stand buys visibility by the second; an owned or co-hosted dinner buys hours with your exact target operators. Ask the CH3 team for Rome and Malta rate cards to model both.

SiGMA Side Events & The Untapped Calendar

30–55 tracked side events · organiser program dominates · a near-empty independent calendar

The raw numbers. SiGMA's flagship draws around 30,000 delegates, yet CH3's conference tracker logged only 30 to 55 side events around recent editions, and the organiser's own program (Startup Pitch, awards nights, retreats, tournaments, iGathering dinners) accounts for most of them. That works out to roughly one side event per 750 attendees. The busiest conference weeks we produce elsewhere run one side event per 11 to 25 attendees. Same-sized crowds, up to 60 times fewer events competing for them.

Side-Event Competition: iGaming vs Other Anchor Weeks

Attendees per side event · higher = more attention up for grabs per host
EthCC week (6,500 pax · ~580 events)
~11 pax / event
TOKEN2049 SG week (25,000 · ~1,000)
~25 pax / event
ICE Barcelona week (62,988 · ~100)
~630 pax / event
SiGMA flagship week (30,000 · ~40)
~750 pax / event

How this data was compiled: the SiGMA bar uses ~40 events, the midpoint of the 30–55 range tracked across recent editions; attendee and side-event counts per week come from each organiser's published figures and CH3's conference tracker of publicly listed satellite events (SiGMA: sigma.world program listings and Malta-week tracking; comparison weeks: organiser post-event reports). Ratios are rounded and conservative: they divide unique week attendees by the total side-event count, but since these are multi-day weeks (typically four to five event days), every attendee can join several events, so the practical audience pool available to each host is roughly 4x the stated figure, on both sides of the comparison. Side-event counting is directional by nature, as private unlisted gatherings are invisible to all methods. Last verified: July 2026.

The After-Hours Attention Math

SiGMA flagship week · a simple model of supply vs consumption
Available: 30,000 delegates × 4 conference days × ~4 after-hours per day480,000 attention hours
Consumed: ~50 side events × ~150 guests × ~2 hours per event15,000 attention hours
Share of after-hours attention actually captured by side events~3%
97% Of after-conference attention is up for grabs

Model assumptions: 30,000 delegates present across the four conference days (organiser-reported), 30–55 side events tracked per week at an average of ~150 guests (CH3 tracker; the model uses ~50, the top of the range), ~4 usable after-conference hours per evening and ~2 hours of attention per side event (in line with our sponsorship ROI research). The figures are a directional model, not a measurement, and rounding is deliberate; halving or doubling any assumption still leaves the overwhelming majority of the week's after-hours attention uncaptured.

Why side-event ROI should run higher at SiGMA:

  • 1 · Minimal competition for attendance. Your invitation is one of a few dozen that week, not one of a thousand. Acceptance rates, turnout and no-show behaviour all improve when guests are not choosing between six events per evening.
  • 2 · Documented demand for hospitality. The demand is proven by the official program itself: 35+ dinners, eight parties, sports days and two awards nights sold into a single Malta week. The audience reliably shows up for evening formats.
  • 3 · The benchmarks were set under worse conditions. The per-guest and per-attention-hour figures above were measured at weeks with 20 to 60 times more calendar competition. The same budget at SiGMA buys a rarer slot and a more senior room: the organiser reports roughly 47% of delegates at C-level.
  • 4 · First movers keep the slot. On the circuits we track, side-event counts grew roughly tenfold within three years of a calendar forming. iGaming is at the start of that curve; a recurring curated event established now holds the oversubscribed slot when it fills.

SiGMA Week Activation Costs

Because the SiGMA world tour spans multiple host cities, the most useful cost picture is the gaming circuit itself. The medians below are contracted totals per format from CH3's internal contracting database in the circuit's main European cities; Rome and Malta carry thinner samples, so treat those markets as quote-on-request and use Barcelona and Lisbon as directional anchors.

How this data was compiled: the table aggregates contracted line items (venue, catering, drinks, AV, staffing and related categories) from events CH3 delivered between 2020 and 2026 in Barcelona and Lisbon, pulled from our internal contracting database in July 2026. The Sample Size column counts line items per row across both cities; several medians reflect venue and F&B coverage rather than full production scope. Rome and Malta samples are currently too thin to publish responsibly; live rate cards for both are available on request, and Rome benchmarks will expand after the 2026 flagship.

How To Activate Around SiGMA

the CH3 playbook · trade-show logic · operator-first targeting

  1. Choose your battle: floor, evening or both.
    • Pipeline with named operators → executive dinner or private suite with a curated list of 15–60 decision-makers
    • Affiliate acquisition → high-energy networking night or branded party (150–400 pax), the format this industry genuinely loves
    • Market entry (Italy, LatAm, Balkans, Africa) → market-specific breakfast or half-day summit with a regulatory guest
    • Awareness on a stand budget → hospitality suite near the Fiera working the expo's daytime traffic
  2. Don't fear the official calendar. The house program cannot seat the summit: even the biggest iGathering dinners and awards nights hold a few hundred guests against 30,000 delegates, so on any given evening the overwhelming majority of the audience has nowhere curated to be. Senior operators prefer intimate, invitation-only rooms for real deal-making, which means a private format is not competing with the awards night, it is the alternative to it, in every slot of the week.
  3. Target rooms, not footfall. The win condition is thirty of the right operators at your table. That is a guest-list and co-host exercise before it is a production one.
  4. Book Rome early. Fiera Roma sits outside the centre, so transport decides turnout, and central venues for the first week of November go fast.
  5. Reuse one format across the tour. Rome, Malta, Dubai, São Paulo, Manila: same concept and partners, a new market each quarter.
  6. Define the metric first. Operator meetings booked, affiliates signed, regulator conversations held: pick one before the invites go out, using Measuring What Events Actually Do.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people attend SiGMA?

SiGMA's flagship drew 30,000 delegates and around 1,000 exhibitors at its Rome debut in November 2025, up from 27,000 at the final Malta flagship in 2024 and just 1,500 at the first summit in 2014. The wider SiGMA world tour adds regional editions including Dubai (14,500 in 2025), São Paulo (17,500 in 2025), Manila and a ~12,000-person Malta edition. Figures are organiser-reported.

Where and when is the next SiGMA?

The flagship, SiGMA World Rome, returns to Fiera Roma on 2–5 November 2026, expecting 30,000+ delegates and 1,200+ exhibitors. The Malta edition runs 16–20 November 2026 at the MFCC, with further regional summits in Dubai, São Paulo and Manila across the year.

How much does it cost to exhibit at or sponsor SiGMA?

SiGMA sells delegate passes in tiers from roughly €500 (discounted standard) upward, while entry-level exhibitor and branding packages have been reported from around €10,000–11,000, scaling steeply with stand size and placement; the Rome debut sold out 75,000 square metres of floor. Bespoke quotes come via sigma.world. As a market reference, CH3's contracting database prices an owned 100–200 person networking evening in Barcelona at a median of about €18,600 excl. VAT, and less in Lisbon or Rome.

Why should a brand activate around SiGMA?

SiGMA concentrates the iGaming industry's operators, affiliates, suppliers and regulators into a single week: 30,000 delegates at the Rome flagship alone. Presence is contested on the floor but not off it: 1,000+ exhibitors compete for walk-by attention, while only 30 to 55 side events run around the week, so roughly 97% of delegates' after-hours attention goes unclaimed. A private hosted format lets you choose who is in the room and hold their attention for hours, typically for less than the cost of a mid-tier stand.

What is the best way for a brand to activate around SiGMA?

Move first. iGaming's independent side-event scene is still a handful of events around a 30,000-person week, and on the anchor circuits CH3 tracks, calendars filled within about three years once brands caught on, with the earliest hosts holding the oversubscribed slots. The playbook: pick one curated, invitation-only format built around a named operator list, run it every edition, and let it compound across the world tour.

How does SiGMA compare to ICE and SBC Summit?

They are iGaming's three anchor weeks, and they split the calendar. SiGMA World Rome is the largest pure B2B summit format: 30,000 delegates, 1,000+ exhibitors each November, with a defining affiliate constituency, a strong regulatory layer and a year-round world tour of regional editions. ICE Barcelona in January is the industry's biggest trade show by headcount (~63,000 attendees), weighted towards land-based gaming, lottery and payments. SBC Summit in Lisbon each September is the sports-betting-led counterpart. Many brands work all three; what they share is a side-event calendar that is thin relative to attendance, so the activation logic on this page applies across the circuit.

Where should I allocate my budget around SiGMA?

Start from measured cost per attention-hour. In CH3's research across 340+ sponsorship packages and 242 delivered productions, a hosted side event runs about $48 per attention-hour and co-hosting about $40 per guest, against roughly $272 per attention-hour for headline sponsorship tiers. A stand delivers reach, not depth: with ~1,000 exhibitors over four days, the average SiGMA stand gets about 52 seconds of one attendee's viewing time across the whole show, while a hosted evening holds a guest for ~2 hours, roughly 140x more attention per person. Stands still earn their place for discovery, since 81% of trade-show attendees hold buying authority and 92% attend to discover products (CEIR); converting that authority happens in high-depth formats. The allocation logic: match format depth to deal stage, buy attention where it is cheapest per hour, weight spend toward the uncontested market (a few dozen side events serve SiGMA's 30,000-person week), and secure a recurring slot early. Full data in our attention availability analysis.
