MIPIM

The property industry’s global market, and the show that opens the Cannes year. Around 20,000 professionals from 90+ countries fill the Palais and every hotel on the Croisette. Deals happen in private meetings, not on the show floor — so hospitality suites and closed dinners are the formats that work.

EthCC[9]

Europe’s largest Ethereum conference, and the reason Cannes matters to CH3. EthCC 8 drew over 6,500 accredited participants here in 2025; the Palais has it contracted through 2028, with EthCC[10] on 5–8 April 2027 and EthCC[11] on 3–6 April 2028. Side events run wider than the conference itself — roughly a ten-day window.

Canneseries

The ninth edition of the international series festival, in the Palais as soon as EthCC clears. Easier to work around than the film festival, but it keeps the red-carpet infrastructure in place another week.

Cannes Film Festival

The 79th edition, and twelve days when Cannes stops being a conference city. Hotels, villas, tenders and every terrace on the Croisette are committed, and rates roughly double. Brand activations here are decided in winter, not spring — by March there is effectively nothing left on the seafront.

Cannes Lions

The creative industry’s festival, 15,000+ delegates from more than 90 countries, and around 1,150 unofficial events along the Croisette in the same week. The beach houses — Meta, Spotify, Amazon, Stagwell, Canva — are held by the same brands year on year, so a new activation needs a decision months out. LinkedIn’s B2B summit runs the 23rd; SPORT BEACH the 24th and 25th.

Cannes Yachting Festival

Europe’s leading in-water boat show — 700+ boats across the Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto, not the Palais. It opens the autumn run and takes the harbour venues with it, which is where the charter and private dining formats live.

TFWA World Exhibition

The duty-free and travel-retail market, around 7,000 participants, and the second wave of the autumn run. Buyer diaries are booked solid across all five days, so closed briefings and private dinners outperform open receptions here by a wide margin.

MIPCOM

The 42nd edition of the global television and entertainment market: 350+ exhibiting companies across fifteen halls, 10,600+ delegates and more than 3,300 buyers. MIPJUNIOR runs the 10th and 11th immediately before it. Evening formats beat anything competing with the market floor.

Mare di Moda

The beachwear and lingerie fabrics fair, closing out October in the Palais. Too small to move hotel rates, but it takes Palais halls while the autumn run is still going.

The international retail-property market, and the fifth show in thirteen weeks at the same venue. Confirm the dates directly with the organiser — sources disagree between the 3rd–5th and the 4th–5th.

Side-Event Opportunity Map

Where a Cannes side event still fits in 2026, and where it does not.

Top Pick

EthCC Week — Mar 30 to Apr 2

The one week where CH3’s own Cannes portfolio proves the case: sixteen side events across a single edition, from a 200-guest reception at Lucia to an eighteen-person team room. Over 6,500 accredited participants, the beach clubs trading hands nightly, and a side-event window that runs about ten days wide — three days either side of the conference itself. It is also the only Cannes week contracted years in advance, so you can plan 2027 and 2028 now.

Top Pick

Cannes Lions Week — Jun 22 to 26

Fifteen thousand delegates from 90+ countries, and roughly 1,150 unofficial events along the same two kilometres of seafront. The audience is senior, the budgets are open and the whole city is already in activation mode. The catch is that the beach houses are held by returning brands, so anything new has to be committed by the winter before.

The July–August Window

Between Cannes Lions closing and the Yachting Festival opening, the Palais is dark and the plages are trading normally. Rates are the lowest of the year and you are competing with nobody. Right for a client retreat, a closed summit or a launch that wants the Riviera without the crowd — and the only caveat is that some suppliers take the French August break, so lock them by June.

The Autumn Run — Sep to Dec

Five shows in thirteen weeks: the Yachting Festival, TFWA, MIPCOM, MAPIC and ILTM, nearly all at one venue in a city of 75,000. It is the densest stretch of the Cannes year and the hardest to book into cold. But the audiences barely overlap, so a well-timed dinner or briefing reaches a room that is in town for one specific reason. Brief sixteen weeks out, minimum.

Best Low-Pressure Windows

January is the genuine quiet month — the Palais is empty, hotel rates bottom out, and nothing competes for attention. Two Cannes-specific warnings:July and Augustread as low season and the rates agree, but the Palais is closed and some suppliers take the French annual break, so confirm technical and catering cover before you commit; andlate Decemberlooks open the moment ILTM leaves on the 3rd, though the city runs on a skeleton until the new year.

Frequently Asked Questions

The dates clients check first, and the booking windows behind them.

01When is EthCC 2026, and is it staying in Cannes?
EthCC[9] ran30 March to 2 April 2026 at the Palais des Festivals, and it is staying — the Palais holds it under contract through 2028, with EthCC[10] on 5–8 April 2027 and EthCC[11] on 3–6 April 2028. Note that it has moved from its old summer slot: EthCC 8 ran 30 June to 3 July 2025, which is where CH3’s sixteen Cannes side events sit. Plan for early April now, not July.
02When is Cannes Lions 2026?
Cannes Lions 2026 runs22–26 June 2026 at the Palais des Festivals, with 15,000+ delegates from more than 90 countries and around 1,150 unofficial events running alongside it along the Croisette. LinkedIn’s B2B summit is on the 23rd and SPORT BEACH on the 24th and 25th. The beach houses are held by returning brands, so a new activation needs a decision by the previous winter.
03When is the Cannes Film Festival 2026?
The 79th edition runs12–23 May 2026 at the Palais des Festivals, twelve days that commit the entire city — hotels, villas, tenders and every terrace on the Croisette, with rates roughly doubling. If you want to activate around it, decide in winter; by March there is effectively nothing left on the seafront.
04Which Cannes week is best for a side event?
EthCC.It is the week CH3 knows best — sixteen events across one edition — the side-event window runs about ten days wide, and the beach clubs are the venue rather than a hotel function room. Cannes Lions is the bigger audience but the harder room to break into, because its beach houses recur year on year.
05What is the autumn run, and why does it matter?
Five trade shows land between September and December: the Yachting Festival, TFWA, MIPCOM, MAPIC and ILTM, nearly all of them atthe Palais des Festivals, in a city of about 75,000 people. That is thirteen weeks of sustained pressure.Their audiences barely overlap — travel retail, television, retail property and luxury travel are four different rooms — so a targeted dinner or briefing works well, but nothing can be booked late.
06Which weeks are hardest to book a Cannes venue?
May and June, back to back. The Film Festival takes twelve days in May and Cannes Lions takes five in June, and between them they commit the hotels, the villas and every beach club on the Croisette. March is the other pinch, with MIPIM and EthCC inside four weeks of each other. September is when the autumn run begins and does not really let go until December.no off-seasonis the honest summary — only January is genuinely open.
07Is July or August a bad time to run an event in Cannes?
No — it is the best value window of the year. The Palais is dark, the plages are trading normally, and rates are the lowest they get — so a retreat, a closed summit or a launch has the city more or less to itself. The one caveat is the French annual break: some venues, caterers and technical suppliers close for two to four weeks in August, so confirm cover before June.
08What is the real lead time on a Cannes side event?
Eight to twelve weeks is unhurried, away from the big weeks.Inside them Cannes behaves like a different city: for the Film Festival in May, Cannes Lions in June and anything inside the autumn run, brief us sixteen to twenty weeks out. Two Cannes-specific traps — the best beach clubs are held on returning bookings and go earlier than the conference calendar suggests, and the Palais halls are gone first inside the autumn run.
