Event Venue Map
Malta’s Best Event Districts
Malta can be crossed in an hour. Its big shows build at MFCC in Ta’ Qali, the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta and the St Julian’s hotels; the dinners around them spread from the harbour bastions to inland palazzos and a northern beach club. Twelve districts, each with the venues CH3 lists for it.

Valletta & the Grand Harbour — Best for NEXT Week, Harbour Nights & Landmark Dinners
NEXT Summit Valletta meets at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, the Knights’ Sacra Infermeria of 1574, on 26–27 May 2027; its auditorium seats 1,400. The Grand Harbour carried April 2026’s pyro-musical fireworks nights and starts the Rolex Middle Sea Race on 17 October. Carnival fills St George’s Square in February. After dark, The Rooftop at The Embassy and Over Grain at Rosselli look over the domes, ION Harbour faces the Three Cities from St Barbara Bastion, Noni cooks modern Maltese, and Teatru Manoel seats 623 for a keynote.
Venues: The Rooftop at The Embassy, Over Grain at Rosselli, ION Harbour, Noni, Teatru Manoel, Mediterranean Conference Centre

Floriana — Best for Festival Nights & Grand-Hotel Receptions
Floriana lies just outside Valletta’s city gate. On Il-Fosos Square, the Granaries, Isle of MTV Malta drew a record crowd of around 40,000 on 22 July 2026, with Katy Perry headlining. Carnival floats run along St Anne Street each February. The Phoenicia Malta stands in its own gardens above the harbour, with a ballroom, terraces and a glass-roofed restaurant facing the bastions.
Venues: The Phoenicia Malta

Three Cities (Birgu, Senglea, Kalkara) — Best for Bastion Receptions Facing Valletta
Birgu, Senglea and Kalkara look at Valletta across the Grand Harbour. Fort St Angelo, the Knights’ headquarters at the tip of Birgu, opens its D’Homedes Bastions for private events, with superyachts moored below. In Senglea, Cugó Gran Macina, a Design Hotels property inside the Sheer Bastion of 1554, takes up to 300 seated or 800 standing on its rooftop. On the Kalkara headland, the esplanade and garden of Villa Bighi hold a reception with the city lit up opposite.
Venues: Cugó Gran Macina, Fort St Angelo, Villa Bighi

Ta’ Qali & MFCC — Best for Show-Scale Conferences & Stands
Inland, beside the National Stadium, the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre is where Malta’s largest shows build. SiGMA Europe returns here on 3–5 May 2027 with 12,000 delegates and 400+ exhibitors; the organiser chose MFCC partly to keep delegates close to the St Julian’s hotels. In November the same halls take the DeAI Summit (25–28 November 2026) and Techexpo Malta (26–28 November). Stand builds and client lounges here sit in the same CH3 brief as the dinners around the show.
Venues: MFCC (Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre)

St George’s Bay — Best for SBC Summit Week & Hotel Conferences
A small sandy bay ringed by large hotels, at the northern end of St Julian’s. SBC Summit Malta held its biggest edition here, at the InterContinental Malta, on 28–30 April 2026: a record 6,000 attendees from 68 countries, 65% of them operators and affiliates. It closed on the night of the Fireworks Festival finale.
Venues: InterContinental Malta (SBC Summit host)

Paceville — Best for After-Parties & Pool Days
Malta’s main nightlife streets, a few steps from the conference hotels and the marina. Infinity by Hugo’s puts an infinity pool and a DJ on the roof of Hotel Hugo’s, with views over the bays: a pool day that turns into a sunset party.
Venues: Infinity by Hugo’s

Portomaso — Best for Forums & Marina Receptions
The marina, the Hilton Malta with its convention centre, and the Portomaso Casino: the closest St Julian’s gets to a conference campus. The NextGen Payments & RegTech Forum spent a day at the Hilton on 19 February 2026, with Bank of Valletta and Bitpanda on panels covering payments, DORA and stablecoins. It returns on 25 February 2027.
Venues: Hilton Malta (NextGen Forum host)

Balluta & Spinola Bay — Best for Seafront Dinners Within Walking Distance
Two small bays south of the hotel quarter. Spinola has fishing boats and restaurants around a small harbour; Balluta runs along the seafront toward Sliema under the Carmelite church and the art nouveau Balluta Buildings. Rosami at The Villa sits on the water at Balluta Bay, the closest table on CH3’s Malta venue list to the St Julian’s hotels, for a dinner guests can walk to.
Venues: Rosami at The Villa

Sliema — Best for a Chef’s Table Dinner
Sliema runs along the seafront from Balluta to the point opposite Valletta. Fernandõ Gastrotheque, a short drive from St Julian’s, takes a closed dinner where the kitchen is the reason to come.
Venues: Fernandõ Gastrotheque

Mdina — Best for Palazzo Dinners on the Walls
Malta’s walled old capital, inland on a hill. The Xara Palace, a 17th-century palazzo and Relais & Châteaux hotel, is built into Mdina’s bastions. Its de Mondion restaurant sits on the walls, with a view across the island to the sea.
Venues: The Xara Palace

Naxxar — Best for Ballroom Galas & Garden Receptions
A village square inland, between the St Julian’s hotels and MFCC. Palazzo Parisio, a private palazzo on Victory Square, has a gilded baroque ballroom and formal gardens: drinks in the garden, dinner in the ballroom, all inside one set of walls.
Venues: Palazzo Parisio

Golden Bay & Mellieħa — Best for Beach-Club Days
In the north of the island, Golden Bay is one of Malta’s few long sandy beaches. MedAsia Golden Sands sets cabanas, sushi and cocktails on the sand, facing west for the sunset. A team afternoon or a founders’ day can run from the water to sundown without changing venue.
Venues: MedAsia Golden Sands

How to Choose the Right District
Start with the show. In a conference week the main venue fixes the map: SBC Summit at the InterContinental in St George’s Bay, NEXT at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, SiGMA Europe, the DeAI Summit and Techexpo at MFCC in Ta’ Qali. Delegates sleep in St Julian’s, so the side events that fill first are the ones they can walk to, in Paceville, Portomaso and the bays.
Then size the room: up to 800 standing on Cugó Gran Macina’s rooftop, 1,400 seated at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, 623 at Teatru Manoel. Seated dinners suit ION Harbour, Noni, Rosami or Fernandõ taken privately; a gala suits Palazzo Parisio’s ballroom. The St Julian’s event agency page covers how CH3 works across Malta, Italy and Switzerland.
The hour decides the rest. Golden Bay and Infinity by Hugo’s carry an afternoon into sunset. Valletta’s rooftops take the cocktail hour, Mdina and Naxxar the long dinner, Paceville whatever comes after it. In April 2026, the Grand Harbour’s fireworks nights fell in SBC Summit week.
